What's this all about?

The Anonymous Cougar

Yes, here we are ladies and gentlemen, on the verge of beginning another year of classes and romance at the nation's No. 1 "Stone-cold Sober" University and home to the "new" Harvard Business School.

To familiarize you all a bit with what's going down here, let me just ask a few questions:

  • Have you ever wondered what kind of people really attend BYU?
  • Have you ever wanted to say something to the BYU community that was too "edgy" to be published in the Daily Universe "letter to the editor" section or even on a facebook page?
  • Have you ever wanted to know what other zoobies really think about things like dating in Provo, the Honor Code, the "dark" side of BYU athletics, rated "R" movies, NCMOs, or BYUSA funding allocation?
So have I.

That's why I've created a way to figure out what really makes the BYU student body tick.  The key here is anonymity.  You don't want to be blacklisted by anyone for saying something like totally scandalous like "I think the Honor Code is out-dated and should be completely revised" or "I don't think we should have grades at all for religion classes."  The solution is that you can take the surveys and post your thoughts and ideas COMPLETELY ANONYMOUSLY. So how will this work and why should you trust me?

  • Well, I'll be posting anonymous surveys about interesting topics which you can fill out and invite your friends to fill out.  Then I'll be posting the results for you and everyone to see.  If you'd like to suggest a new survey topic or post commentary about the results but are concerned about what other zoobies might think about you, you can email me directly.
  • I have no reason to post your actual names or emails because that would ruin the whole point of the site and as soon as people heard about it they would stop participating. I want to keep this going, so I have no incentive to "rat you out".  You can trust me.  I mean, I'm a BYU student, right?  If you feel too uncomfortable about that, then you can just create a fake email and use that to email me.

So there you have it peeps.  Game on.
